A while back I signed up for a twitter account. I am not sure why, other than I was told everyone is doing it. It is the wave of the future for marketing yourself, your company and brilliant fresh new ideas. I can honestly say that I have never been the best at marketing any of those things. I have a better chance of finding Jack and his magic beanstalk beans than figuring out how to market something in 140 characters or less.
I can understand the concept of blogs. It is just me ranting, raving and rambling. The big plus is I am not limited to 140 characters. In an effort to be a bit objective I attempted to link my twitter page to my new found blog.
As I log into twitter to figure out what the darn url is, I get this message: Twitter is Over Capacity. Please wait a moment and try again.
How many people are posting 140 characters or less? How the heck can you be out of capacity. If this was your entire world, what is your max capacity? Apparently this is common enough that twitter actually has a link so you can track how often they have status problems. http://status.twitter.com/
As most have probably heard, recently Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, was on stage during a keynote presentation at Apples World Developers Conference. During he speech he was attempting to show the difference in web pages and resolution of the new 4G iphone vs the older models. Watch for yourself what happens when your network is over capacity!

I am not certain how the technology world determines an individuals capacity. I do know that the amount of money you are willing to spend directly reflects the amount of capacity you have available.
When Steve Jobs & Twitter assessed and anticipated their capacity needs, did they assess the impact on their credibility, reliability and image?
